I have the Steam version of Cave Story+ for Mac. Can't find my save file anywhere. Any ideas where I'll find it? It's not in ~/Library/Preferences/com.nakiwo.Doukutsu.plist

It may be called Profile.dat in CS+. Have you checked this?

On OS X, Programs do not necessarily have the right to write to anywhere under /Applications folder, not even their own folders. Also, because it tries to be multi-user system, stuff is stored on per-user basis.

Check if there's ~/Library/Application Support/CaveStory+/Profile.dat.

Also, I'm not sure if the saves are cross-compatible between Windows/Linux/OS X versions.

The profile.dat should be in the application itself. Control-Click the Cave Story icon and choose "Show Package Contents" and it should be in there.

Either that or "Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Cave Story+/Profile.dat"

I've only played it on the Mac once, so I'm probably wrong.

I play Cave Story with an N64 controller and doesn't afraid of anything.
I also make musics here.
