Well in theory aren't the saves for DS stuff on an SD card?
Shouldn't be hard to get them.

You're right Nox, I didn't think of that. Yeah, that would work.

I have cave story dsi on my sd card, but i don't know how to post it up. D: If someone tells me how i can, I'll gladly do it.

Also, i think dsiware is encrypted to only work on the dsi it was downloaded to.

Alright, while the chances may be slim, I want to try as hard as possible to get some kind of mod/ try to hack Cave Story on DS.

I searched through my SD card after transferring my Cave Story data over to the SD card. If you need me to upload it, I'll be more than happy to.

I found a BIN file that's title is what I assume is in hex, which was inside the DSiWare folder (so I am almost positive this is Cave Story). I guess a problem I see is that it's the entire game, not just a save.

God, I really want mods on my DS. :(

It'd be impossible.

Been there, couldn't do that.

Helped that for ya

Also what is CSDS programmed in? That might help to determine how different the saves in each game are. If there's only one file then wouldn't that mean that the settings are in there too?

Pretty sure the save data wouldn't be contained in the game binary..
All other data probably, but saves should be separate.

AFAIK DS games are generally written in C/C++. Can't imagine them making the effort to modify the save format since they have pretty much kept the same format for every release, barring some additional data tacked onto the end for stuff.
