So, why these two live alone in Grasstown, in danger, far from the Mimiga village, sorrounded by many power-critters, critters, bats, spike pits, crazy frogs, etc...You can agree Santa has a teleporter right outside of his house, but Chaco lives more in the "wilderness". It isn`t very safe, Santa has even a gun and a deathtrap in his house...
Why Chaco (and Santa) chose to live isolated?

I'm wouldn't doubt we already have at least 50+ pages discussing exactly that throughout this forums.Or because they are secretly in love, and Santa goes over to Chaco's house to... do things that should not be mentioned.
And the boring answer is that "towns" in games are always drastically smaller than anything in real life, for example how you and and the Oaks were Pallet Town's only residents, or at least the only ones with houses.
