I prefer Ice-type Pokémon. I even used Action Replay codes to make my Pokémon White Pikachu be able to use ICE BEAM and FROST BREATH. Besides, Pikachu are cute... but deadly. Why else does the anime have Pikachu send Team Rocket blasting off again (before Black & White)?

Now I got a reason to be careful, otherwise Lord Shadow will smash my Ice-type Pokémon with Steel-type moves! Well, unless there's a fire-breathing Pikachu around... but that's kinda evil. Who would do that? Team Rocket, Team Plasma... Anyone evil would do such a thing, as Team Plasma "upgraded" the cannon on Genesect's back.

Yeah, one problem... I play Pokémon White on my PC using DesMuMe... and that's the problem. Oh well. I wish it wasn't so but it was.
What level are your Pokémon, by the way? I've got a Lvl 25 Cryogonal, Lvl 67 (I think) Glaceon that beat a Lvl67 Dratini in ONE HIT whilst at Lvl25, a Vanilluxe at Lvl. 50, a Pikachu that uses Ice Beam and Frost Breath who's Level 100 (I only use him against the Champion of Unova or against the Ex-Champion Cynthia), a Level 69 Gardevoir and a Lvl 87 Lucario. And I actually beat the Unova Pokémon League with two Pikachu.
