I feel so stupid now, but when I read the Cave Story Manual, I thought the picture of Curly was supposed to represent Quote, which in turn made me think that Quote was female. So you are not alone in gender issues

When I first downloaded Cave Story, I had no idea the guy you're supposed to be was a robot, and when Curly was in the Manual I "wtf"d and went "So this is going to be a game about a badass girl who saves theworld caves?"
